In May 2026, the monitor market is dominated by four main technologies: <strong>IPS, TN, VA, and OLED<\/strong>, each having clear advantages and trade-offs for gaming, productivity, photo-video editing, or multimedia consumption. The rapid evolution in recent years has reduced the differences between them, but the correct choice still depends on usage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">TN Monitors (Twisted Nematic) &#8211; still relevant for esports?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>TN (<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Twisted_nematic_field_effect\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Twisted Nematic<\/a>)<\/strong> panels are the oldest among modern LCD technologies, but they have not disappeared. Its strong point is high contrast: many models reach between <strong>3000:1 and 6000:1<\/strong>, clearly surpassing IPS and TN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Advantages of VA monitors:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>deeper black;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>excellent contrast for movies and cinematic games;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>suitable for curved and ultrawide monitors;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>better HDR experience than standard IPS.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">VA is preferred by users who play RPGs, simulators, or watch a lot of video content.
